Gymstars Gymnastics Academy offer gymnastics classes for all ages and abilities:
Parent & Child
These sessions are designed to introduce children to gymnastics. Classes run for 40 minutes with the emphasis being on FUN!
They include action songs and structured time on specialised gym apparatus where the children learn how to jump, balance, swing, climb, roll and much more under the watchful eye of our qualified coaches.
For children aged 18 months to 3 years old.
Run during term-time only, these are structured sessions which use all the equipment in the gym, following one of the British Gymnastics ‘Fundamental’ themes. The emphasis is on FUN and the children work towards a badge each term.
For children aged 3-4 years.
Pay & Play Drop In Sessions
These are unstructured but supervised ‘drop-in’ sessions offered on a pay-as-you-go basis. There is no need to book, you can just turn up and pay on the door. These sessions offer an opportunity for you to come in with your children and explore the facility and the equipment. There is a loyalty scheme for regular members – please ask for more details.
For children aged 6 and younger.
Stepping Stone Class
Our ‘Stepping Stone’ sessions are a condensed version of our ‘Gymnastics For All’ classes where the children are introduced to the style of learning in a quieter and calmer environment so as not to overwhelm them.
The children are integrated into the GFA classes towards the end of the summer term, as and when spaces become available.
For children in Reception at school.
Gymnastics For All
Once children have turned 5 years old, they move into our recreational gymnastics classes. These classes are well structured and offer the gymnast the chance to familiarise themselves with the four main pieces of apparatus – vault, bars, beam and floor. These classes provide an enjoyable experience with the opportunity to perform to friends and family at our annual Christmas Competition.
For children aged 5 to 17 years old.
Invitation Only Groups
Development, Novice and Advanced.
Children may be invited to work in an specific group which will provide an opportunity to further advance their skills as well as work towards local competitions.
